Week 1

I’m now officially orientated onto the Postnatal ward. However, it will be quite a while before I adjust to the 6:30 rising. As i’m still working with Tommy, my working day starts at 7:30 a.m and ends around 7:30 p.m. This week I went to bed at 9:30 most nights so I’d make it through the day.

Overall its going well enough… despite being referred to as ‘Colette’ for a good chunk of Tuesday. However, it also seems to be taking its toll on me, i’m a tad run down. I’m hoping a lazy weekend / dangerous amount of vitamins might remedy it.

I’ve also been unofficially told that I’ll be returning to Waterford in October for my next placement. Its just hearsay, but, at least it won’t be a shock if I am. Waterford would have been great last time if I had managed to find internet of some sort while I was there. I was stuck in a barely acceptable apartment, where watching what I wanted on tv cued several complaints. This time internet will be an absolute necessity. I’ve become far too dependent on it.
