I’m now officially orientated onto the Postnatal ward. However, it will be quite a while before I adjust to the 6:30 rising. As i’m still working with Tommy, my working day starts at 7:30 a.m and ends around 7:30 p.m. This week I went to bed at 9:30 most nights so I’d make it through the day.
Overall its going well enough… despite being referred to as ‘Colette’ for a good chunk of Tuesday. However, it also seems to be taking its toll on me, i’m a tad run down. I’m hoping a lazy weekend / dangerous amount of vitamins might remedy it.
I’ve also been unofficially told that I’ll be returning to Waterford in October for my next placement. Its just hearsay, but, at least it won’t be a shock if I am. Waterford would have been great last time if I had managed to find internet of some sort while I was there. I was stuck in a barely acceptable apartment, where watching what I wanted on tv cued several complaints. This time internet will be an absolute necessity. I’ve become far too dependent on it.

Well, as of this weekend i’m no longer on summer holidays. I’ve just spent the last two hours thinking about where my summer has gone to. I’ve been away 2 or 3 times, and seen 5 different countries, so, it’s been interesting. Despite all the lying around i’ve done, I don’t feel i’ve wasted it in any way. I’ve made some good friends. Some parts have been a bit stressful, but i’ve learnt a lesson or two.
Monday morning I start work on the Postnatal ward in the Maternity Hospital here in Limerick. I’ll be there for a month. That and some other work is going to consume most of my time. It’l be a strange transition returning to work and college after months of freedom. Certainly one i’m looking forward to.
The end of the summer is slowly approaching, and, that usually means the splitting of my group of friends for the year. One of my friends is returning to the States on Monday, another will be leaving in January for the good bones of a year and i’m hopeful for the return of another friend.
Monday starts my second year at UL. Hopefully second year will go aswell as first, if not better.

First post, mainly just to mitigate the bare appearance of this page. Not sure what i’ll end up writing about just yet. Most likely ye can look forward to ramblings of my daily ventures.. or more likely - whats happening on tv.
